If you’re looking for a great night out, Sligo has plenty of pubs to choose from. Here are our top five pubs in Sligo! Whether you’re into traditional music or just want to grab a pint and relax, there’s something for everyone. So get ready for a night of fun in Sligo!
Shoot The Crows
With it’s highly recognisable painted glass window, Shoot’s (as it’s known locally) is full of character. One of the most well-known bars in this area, Shoot’s has become a special place for locals. It offers long and narrow bar area with an extra area at back where you can sit if it’s just yourself or your significant other who wants some quiet time! With trad and folk sessions on various nights throughout the week, Shoots is also a great place to chill with music. See their Facebook page here
Bree’s Strandhill
Bree’s was taken over last summer by Tom and Art, also of The Dune’s in Strandhill. The lads have brought fab cocktails to Strandhill, cocktails with a view. Their pub garden is nestled underneath Knocknarea and is wonderful when the sun shines but cosy when it rains as they have cover. Keep and eye on their music events, they recently hosted a dj night with seriously cool tunes. Also, grab a No Reservations Pizza if you’re peckish – wood fired and off the hook good. See more from Bree’s here
Austies Rosses Point
We love Austies! Sitting outside enjoying their fish and chips whilst the Atlantic is just over the way, is pure bliss. There is a main restaurant area inside and outside, and a separate area for just pints, with a couple of nice booths. We’d recommend booking for food so not to be disappointed.

The Swagman
The swagman always has something going on! With an outside area that regularly hosts awesome bands and Dj’s you could say it’s Sligo’s most musically oriented pub. Dale is the publican here, an Australian, so the pub is adorned with Aussie memorabilia. And it also serves good pub grub. Keep informed of events here
Hargadon’s
Dark moody interiors, private cosy nooks, great food and amazing Guinness. Need we say more. Hargadon’s is alway first on our list when showing visitors around town. Most definitely a local institution, Hargadon Bros is Sligo’s only entry in the Michelin Guide, Eating Out in Pubs 2021, eating here is a must. Book your table and see the menu here
