I’ve had a great response on my Sligo suggestions over the last few months so I’ve decided to try to do one a month. February might be the shortest month of the year but there is a lot happening. Here are just a few suggestions.

The markets are back! Rathcormac, Beltra, Drummartin and Sligo Farmer’s Market are all on every Saturday. A great chance to buy some gorgeous, local, produce. Strandhill People’s Market is re-opening on February 19th – they have a few spaces for new stall holders so it might be one to check out. Cliffoney Country Market takes place on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from 11am to 1pm.

On the 4th of February Sligo Wellness will have a fundraising open day at St. Michael’s Family Life Centre. They are offering tasters of all the services available their centre, as well as talks, cookery demo and more. Admission is €10. All proceeds go to St. Michael’s.

AS part of Sligo’s designation as European Volunteering Capital, two Public Information Evenings will be held this February which are open to all. Come along to find out more about the plans for the year and how you and your fellow volunteers/community workers can get involved.
