The Warren Way
If you are looking for a short walk this would be perfect. Of all the Sligo Walks we’ve done this is the shortest so far. The Warren Way is in Castleconnor, just outside Enniscrone on the Coast Road to Ballina.
There’s parking for around 5 cars and the walk is flat and easy. You can enjoy walk through a forest, on one side is a river and the other side is farmland.
At the end of the path is the sea, there is a warning not to wander onto the mudflats there.
The Warren Way is named after Robert Warren who moved to Enniscrone in the 1800s, he studied the local birds and contributed to the book ‘Birds of Ireland’. There are several plaques along the way where you can read more about Robert and the many species of wildlife at the walk.
