The Heatwave is Back

Well it’s sort of back – but bring a jacket if you go down to the sea or up a mountain. Yesterday was the summer solstice so we were out and about making the most of it.

The first stop of the morning was Union Wood, always a lovely walk and if you have the energy it’s well worth walking to the top of Union Rock….the views over Sligo are spectacular.

The evening was spent in Strandhill, watching the sun setting over the Wild Atlantic Way. We were going to have a bite to eat in Shells but it was closed so we tried out The Burger Shack instead….oh my goodness I had the veggie burger and it was amazing! As it was quite chilly we went into The Strand where there was a lovely roaring fire and they had the football on if you are that way inclined.
