The Taste of Sligo Tour is brought to you by Anthony Gray who is well known for powering the local food revolution in his native Sligo. This tour takes you into the heart of Sligo town to experience exquisite culinary delights from Sligo’s award-winning chefs.

First and foremost, Anthony is a restaurateur, in his benchmark Eala Bhan restaurant, as well as his newest addition, Hooked which is located on Tobergal Lane in Sligo. Mr. Gray is also ex- chairman and now ambassador for of the Sligo Food Trail , which has been energetically and effectively putting the dynamic food culture of this beautiful city on the culinary map of Ireland. Best of all, Mr Gray puts the tastes of Sligo and the North West of Ireland right there on your plate, sourcing superb artisan ingredients to complete his picture of a proud, self-contained and ambitious food. Anthony is also a Wild Atlantic Way champion with Fáilte Ireland and knows Sligo and its surroundings very well, as ex-chairman of The Restaurant association of Ireland he makes the ideal host to guide you in sampling the best that Sligo has to offer.

The difference with the Taste of Sligo Food Tour is that it changes each time it brings you on a culinary tasting, which is unique and changes the experience on each tour. With this tour you will discover lively locals in a vibrant neighbourhood with a rich cultural and architectural heritage. You and your friends will embark on 2.5 hour tour of Sligo’s finest gastronomy establishments in the heart of the town. You will have the opportunity to discover both the local inspired dishes as well as the myriad of local delights including desserts, local craft beers and foods from the West of Ireland. Indulge in the freshest, local oysters, which are all included on the tour.
With this tour you will leave with a stomach full of traditional food, plus local knowledge and sightseeing tips, to enhance the pleasure. This will stay in your memory forever.

You will learn the story of Sligo Food and the ever-changing melting pot of flavours and culture along with award winning recipes that tell Sligo’s story. Where to capture great music or simply breath-taking scenery that we have in abundance here in beautiful Sligo.
This is a walking food tour on which ‘craic agus ceol’ (fun & music) is the dish of the day.

How the Sligo Foodie Tour works…
This is a 2.5-hour long food walking tour, you will visit seven Sligo venues, taste and sample local craft beers and dishes with the freshest local produce. It’s is all about getting together and sharing food, drink, experiences and stories. There is no better way to explore Sligo than through its hospitality industry in good company.
