St. Patrick’s Weekend Events in Sligo 2019
If you are planning your St. Patrick’s Weekend in Sligo here are the family events for the weekend.
Saturday 16th March
Rathcormac Craft Village 10 am – 3pm lots of Demonstrations, Dancing, Music and Spot Prizes on offer! Wood- turning, Basket Weaving, Traditional Vintage Carpentry, Wool spinning, Stained glass, Pottery, Jewelery, Decoupage, Painting and loads more! Plus the fantastic artisan food and craft market.
Trad Babies at the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo. 12 noon and 2pm. Join the theare for a gorgeous concert featuring wonderful musicians to delight and enchant babies, parents and grandparents alike.
Sligo Global Kitchen at The Model Sligo. 3.00 – 5.30 pm Featuring a Moroccan dinner accompanied by some Congolese, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe food. Sligo’s DJ Tony will be there to get everyone dancing.
Cos Cos Sean Nos presents The Rambling House. Wonderful music & stories from Carmel Gunning celebrating the late great Josie McDermott at The Old School, Rathcormac 8pm.
Sunday 17th March
Sligo Town
12 noon – The Sligo Town Parade starting on the Mail Coach Road and finishing at Our Lady Of Mercy Primary School. For those with sensory issues there will be quiet street from the top of Connaghton Road to Bridge Street. There will be no sirens ,loud noises or loud music . All music, car/truck sirens and band’s will stay silent to allow any adults or children who don’t like loud noises to enjoy the Parade and feel part of it.
After the Sligo town parade 2 pm. The largest gathering of leprechauns. Help Sligo break a world record. There will also be a kids disco in Andersons after the gathering. More details here.
12.30 – 2.30pm at The Methodist Hall, Wine Street join the Sligo Intercultural Forum for an afternoon of music and dance, food and fun and children’s entertainment.
Tubbercurry has a 10k Road Race 5k Run and walk Pre-register online: www.coretiming.ie 12pm start. Pre-register €15
Ballymote Parade 3.30pm
Enniscrone – The parade assembles at 12.30 at the Diamond Coast and leaving at 1pm sharp.
Grange Parade is a 2pm
Easkey – The parade starts at 3 pm. Viewing stand at Pudding Row to announce every group as they pass-by.
After the parade, weather permitting, there will be music playing and singers at the viewing stand until 6 pm.
St. Patrick’s Day Monster Musical Jumble Sale in Cliffoney Hall 3.30 pm
Dromore West – 4.15 pm (parade entrants are asked to gather from 3.30 pm from Dromore West Church . The theme is ‘going green’. After the parade there will be entertainment in the community centre.
Aclare Parade starts at 4.30pm at the Community Centre.
