The Cat and The Moon

The Cat and the Moon was opened by jewellery designer Martina Hamilton in 1989! Everything sold in the store is 100% Irish made and supports local and small craft makers of Ireland. Here you’ll find Martina’s own jewellery range, beautiful ceramics, hand-carved wooden bowls and more. They are based on Castle Street in Sligo Town. Upstairs is The Hamilton gallery displaying artworks from Irish artists.

Strandhill People’s Market

Not only is the market filled with delicious food vendors and coffee, there is also an array of local handmade gifts available. Stalls include knitwear, photography, artworks, jewellery….the list goes on. Most of the stalls are owned by local people from in and around Sligo so your gift will have the essence of Sligo in abundance. The market is open on Sunday’s 11am-4pm and is located at Airport Road.

First thing that hits you as you enter Kate’s is the lovely aroma of coffee mingling with their wonderful gift section of creams, lotions and candles. They stock VOYA products which are made using seaweed from the ocean around Sligo. The scent is amazing. Also pick up a fancy bottle of wine or chocolates to dazzle the people back home. Open Tue-Sat, located on Castle Street in Sligo Town.

Shells Little Shop

One of the cutest shops in Sligo, it’s always a cheery affair popping into The Little Shop! Attached to the famous Shells Cafe in Strandhill, the shop is full of hand-curated gifts and treats. A mix of candles made by locals and artwork from Berlin, the shop is eclectic and very cool. Super stylish Jewellery adorns the shelves paired with organic skin care from all over the world. Definitely one for the shopping tour. Shells Little Shop is on the seafront in Strandhill. Open 7 days a week.

Mullaney Brothers

If it’s a Sligo souvenir you’re after this is the place. Mullaney’s has a collection of specially commissioned Sligo souvenir products,  exclusively commissioned images & designs for T-shirtssweatshirts,Tea TowelsMugs & Cups and the ubiquitous Fridge Magnets . You’ll also find a great selection of knitwear, jackets and tweed hats if you want to kit yourself out in the best of Irish attire. Based on O’Connell Street they operate 6 days a week, closed Sunday.
