Sligo Walks – Lissadell

Lissadell Beach

Still on my Wild Atlantic Wayfarer project (in conjunction with the Hawk’s Well Theatre and LookWest), this time it was off for a walk along Lissadell beach, Sligo. It’s a lovely flat walk, so suitable for all abilities.

There was no one else around when I was there so I had a lovely peaceful walk just accompanied by the seagulls.

I’m told there is a bird hide near the beach but I’ve yet to find it. I’m not great with directions anyway – but I’m hopeful I’ll get there one day.

Ruins on Lissadell Beach

At the far end of the beach is a little ruined building. I’ve been told before that this is the old changing room for swimmers but I’m not sure if that’s correct. So if anyone knows for sure can you let me know please?

So if you are looking for a nice easy coastal walk with a lovely view of Benbulben, Lissadell could be a nice one for you.
