AN TAISCE NATIONAL SPRING CLEAN MONTH- APRIL 2019

April is officially National Spring Clean Month! There are loads of Spring Clean Events going on around Sligo Town and County.

Get stuck in!

Here is a list of some of the locally organised Clean Ups:

Curry Moylough Spring Clean: April 6th 10am, meet at St. Mary’s Community Centre or Moylough Heritage Centre. Email currycommunitycentre@gmail.com

North Sligo Playground, Grange Village and Streedagh Beach Spring Clean-Sunday April 7th 2-4.30pm.

Ransboro Clean Up Saturday April 6th 11am, meet at Ransboro School.

Strandhill Beach Clean Up Sunday 7th April 11-2pm, meet at the canon.

Carney Tidy Towns Spring Clean: 13th April 2pm-4pm

Carraroe Spring Clean: 13th April 9.30am, Community Football Field Cuilbeg.

Good Friday Clean Ups 19th April

Ballisodare Tidy Towns

Collooney   12-2pm meet at playground.

Coolaney – 5pm-7pm meet at Community Centre.

Sligo Town- 11am Stephen St. Sligo

NATIONAL VOLUNTEERING WEEK
National Volunteering Week 2019 will take place from 13th – 19th May 2019. It is a whole week dedicated to highlighting volunteering across Ireland and is run in partnership with the network of Volunteer Centres and Volunteering Information Services. Keep an eye on this page for info over the coming weeks.

FINDING & KEEPING VOLUNTEERS WORKSHOP
Tuesday 14th May 6.30-9.30pm Venue TBC

This is an introductory level workshop aimed at staff or volunteers in non-profit groups who recruit and manage volunteers. It is aimed at groups who have not yet availed of training on any aspect of Volunteer Management.

Covering:
– What Sligo Volunteer Centre can do for you
– What volunteers want from volunteering
– Tips for developing attractive volunteer roles
– Overview of Planning for Volunteers

VOLUNTEER MANAGERS GET TOGETHER
Wednesday, June 12th 10.00-12.00pm Venue- North West Hospice Building, Wine St.

Sligo Volunteer Centre facilitate regular get togethers for Local Volunteer Managers.

These Get Togethers are an opportunity to meet with other Volunteer Managers, paid and unpaid, to get support and discuss topics with those who manage volunteers.

The Forum is free, and typically involve an open discussion as well a presentation on volunteer management topics chosen by participants.

Invites will be sent to all groups in advance of the GTG so send your E-mail address to paula@volunteersligo.ie if you would like to attend. Meetings will only go ahead if we have a quorum of 4 people.
