Sligo Hub’s Valentine’s Gift Guide

Valentine’s is just around the corner and because the shopping situation is so different this year being mostly online, we wanted to share and promote all of the super lovely gifts in Sligo that are available at the click of a button. We have a selection of gift or treat boxes, experiences and something for the foodies.

Treat Boxes

Since the restrictions came in last year, treat and gift boxes have become extremely popular. Being a great way to send a little bit of comfort to a friend or loved one that we are unable to see in person. There are some fab Valentine’s Day options for everyone.

First up is Shells Cafe, if you are sending love letters to a crush, treating your lover or celebrating your own amazing life, they’ve got you covered. Shells are providing breakfast in bed, both locally and nationally. I’m sure whoever receives this gift will feel very spoilt! We also have vegan cafe Sweet Beat who have launched a brand new a Vegan Valentine’s Treat Suite for just €35 which can be shipped anywhere across Ireland. So many vegan goodies are packed in including a Sweet Beat Chocolate and Orange Sweet Loaf, 1 Bag of Sweet Beat Chocolate and a bag of delicious 3fe coffee…. check them out here.

We’re missing lots of our regular customers who would visit us at weekends or on holidays, so this is a great way for us to stay connected too. We’ve been sending out lots of our regular treat suites every week, but this one is specially themed for Valentine’s with a little extra chocolate”.

And how about a treat box filled with Whiskey! Thomas Connolly Sligo, the awesomely cosy pub we’re all missing, have a whiskey box available containing 2 drams of whiskey, branded glasses and branded beermats. It’s almost as good as the being there. Great gift for a man (or woman) who is hard to buy for.

Gifts for Her

Now we really are spoilt for choice. Sligo has so many beautiful options for the ladies. Cait and I, is an online gift shop packed with the best of Irish Design, they have curated a special gift list for Valentine’s which you can peruse here but have a specific gift box for ladies full of Irish made candles, notebooks, socks, bath bombs…the list goes on. For something really special, head over to Sligo designer Ana Faye, who designs and makes stunning luxury handbags in her Strandhill workshop. We’d love to receive one these super bags as they really are timeless. As well as bags Ana makes leather headbands which are currently being donned by all the coolest folk in Sligo.

For Him

We all know the chaps are the hardest to buy for, well in our experience! We’ve been trawling the Sligo shops online for you. The Cat and the Moon have a beautiful set of sterling silver seashore cufflinks by Irish Designer Martina Hamilton, they are really special.

If your man is a chocoholic, then Le Fournil have an utterly delicious selection of goodies. Especially for Valentine’s they have a box filled with 8 chocolate covered strawberries and a chocolate vanilla brownie cake. So pretty they’re almost too good to eat. The dead line for pre-order is Wed 10th Feb.

Sligo Experiences

If you would rather something to do or feel, Sligo has a fair amount to choose from too. Sligonians like to be active… As most spa’s etc are closed for the moment, you can buy vouchers and wait for the wonderful day you can use them.

Voya Seaweed Baths in Strandhill are a go to for relaxing and revitalising me time. The Seaweed is harvested locally from the Atlantic and the seawater is pumped straight in from the ocean opposite. They also have a double room so both you and your significant other can chill and unwind together. Very romantic!

I’m sure we’re all dreaming of a romantic night away, and Sligo Castle Dargan is just the spot. It being a Castle says it all, and with a spa and golf course on site the whole experience sounds rather dreamy. You can buy vouchers for your night or two away here.

For more adventurous folks there are lots of options too. Such as surfing with Strandhill Surf Experience, yoga with Anois Yoga or a tour around our lovely town with Sligo Walking Tours.
