Sligo Food Tours Announce first Sligo Vegan Food Tour with Gaby & Hans Wieland
Gaby and Hans Wieland will launch Sligo Vegan Food Tours with a special event on Saturday 28th of September 2019.
This culinary adventure will take you through several of Sligo’s finest vegan and vegan-friendly cafes, restaurants and shops. “Eating without preaching and experiencing new flavours and ingredients is part of the fun of our new tour”, says Gaby. Discover plant based foods, taste exciting dishes and share vegan delights facilitated expertly by tour guides Gaby and Hans, who have long standing connections with many of the featured establishments and chefs. Having been food producers themselves for more than 25 years they have an understanding of the meaning of local, seasonal, organic and plant based.
“Vegan food shouldn’t be a matter of contention, but of challenge”, says Hans, “after all eating good tasty food makes you feel good”. The Sligo Vegan Food Tour will feature the chefs, who have – often quietly – taken on that challenge to create tasty and nutritious vegan dishes and also the producers and shops providing the ingredients. Gaby and Hans will provide an insightful adventure into a plant based diet!
Sligo Vegan Food Tours is a 3.5 hour leisurely walking tour that covers eight to nine venues. Food lovers will be treated to the town’s most famous vegan eatery as well as other vegan friendly gems. The tour includes food and drink tastings at each stop and Gaby and Hans will introduce the people behind the food. “We hope people living in Sligo or visiting Sligo, who eat vegan for whatever reasons and people who want to find out more about a plant based diet will find the tour helpful, inspiring and fun”, says Gaby.
Participants will receive a list of featured venues and suggestions where to shop for a plant based diet.
