Rún Secret Postcard Exhibition returns

Rún the hugely successful ‘secret’ postcard exhibition organised by Hyde Bridge Gallery at Yeats Society Sligo returns in December 2019. The exhibition will open on Tuesday, December 3rd, and works will be available to buy from 5:30pm sharp.  At €50 for every work, it’s expected to be ‘Black Tuesday’ on launch day. And proceeds will all support the next generation of visual artists in Ireland.

Rún – the Irish word for ‘a secret’ is the secret exhibition run annually by the Hyde Bridge. All works are postcard size and all works will be sold for €50. Buyers discover the identity of the artist only after they have chosen the work they like. Contributing artists this year include Michael Wann, Emma Stroude, Nuala Clarke, Cormac O’Leary, and many more.

Rún will help raise funds for the Gallery to continue its important work of supporting young and emerging artists, finding their voice and finding a place to exhibit their work. The Gallery already collaborates with IT Sligo’s Fine Art degree programme and awards one solo exhibition and one place in a group exhibition to graduate students. Hyde Bridge also works with Primary Colours, part of Sligo County Council’s arts office projects, and introducing contemporary art to primary school children.

The Hyde Bridge Art Gallery committee members work on a voluntary basis and have created a wonderful exhibition and a wonderful opportunity to share beautiful and inspiring works of art.
