Michael Budd is an award-winning blacksmith and sculptor located in Castlebaldwin, Co. Sligo.

You can do blacksmith courses with one of Ireland’s most experienced blacksmiths and tutors. If you ever wanted to get hands-on experience in a working forge, or maybe you have already been on a blacksmith course before and wanted to learn new techniques and skills. Micheal offers one-on-one lessons at his fully equipped forge in Co. Sligo these lessons are tailored to meet your skill level and needs.  All students leave with their creations, along with the satisfaction that it is all their own handiwork. From the moment you step foot in to the forge you will be hands-on with this ancient, yet contemporary, craft. Michael aims to give the complete novice a grounding in the fundamental skills of the forge. And for those who already possess some knowledge of blacksmithing they will come away with a greater understanding.

Workshops for small groups of up to four people and corporate group courses can also be arranged. The forge is a perfect environment for team building and motivation. This, combined with Sligo’s fantastic landscape, makes Michael’s forge the ideal place to come and reinvigorate your workforce.
