Meet the Maker – Photographer Sara Leahy
Sara Leahy is a portrait photographer based in Sligo. She photographs families and weddings primarily and specialises in printed portraits.
Having a background in Interior Architecture, Sara loves helping her clients create beautiful portraits to take pride of place on the walls of their homes. Her clients also come to her because she ensures that they have an enjoyable and stress-free experience throughout, starting from their first enquiry and all the way to having their portraits personally delivered to their doorstep.
This is how Sara explains the process in her own words:
“A photography session with me is highly personalised to each client. We start with a complimentary consultation in the convenience of your own home. This meeting is when we start planning the session and establish how and where you wish to display the portraits we will create.
We plan out everything in advance – location, what to wear, what style of portraits you want and where to display them in your home. Once we have the session, everything is planned out so well, we just enjoy it!
About a week after the session, I will show you the best portraits from your session and you pick your favourites to buy. My clients love watching the slideshow that I have created of their best photographs and there are usually a few happy tears being shed. We then select your favourites and choose how to best display them.
Using photographs of your walls, I will show you mock-ups of how different gallery layouts will look, so you can easily decide which wall display works best for your home and style.
If you prefer albums or matted prints, they are available too. All my products have been carefully selected for their high quality and craftsmanship and will definitely become treasured heirlooms.
I will personally deliver the purchased portraits to your home so you don’t have to worry about a thing. I believe in making the whole process as relaxed and stress-free as I possibly can for my clients. This is another of the highlights of the whole experience and a lot of my clients say it feels like Christmas when they open their gift wrapped portraits! ”
Originally from Sweden, Sara has lived in Ireland since 2003. She is the wife of a Limerick man, a mother of two girls and a lover of natural light, framed prints, books and mugs of tea. She recently had a photographic piece exhibited in the Leitrim Sculpture Centre, which you can read more about here.
