Join Sligo Hub
Our 1 year old website, sligohub.com has had an average of 10,000 page views per month since it started in March 2018! That’s a great success story for what started as an idea by Val Robus and Kate McCarthy for sharing information and promoting our lovely county.
Sligo Hub promotes all things Sligo. We want everybody, locals and visitors, to know about the great place we live in. In the year from 26th March 2018 to 265th March 2019 sligohub.com has had an average of 10,000 page views per month.
There is so much happening in Sligo and we want to support sharing of events, festivals, and things to do. Our Event Calendar is easy for Sligo Hub members to add their events.
We are really appreciative of all the support we got from local businesses when we were an unproved quantity. In particular, the early sponsors were The Cat and the Moon, Bleeper Bike, Osta Cafe, Cawley’s Guesthouse, David McConville Orthodontics, Mamógs, M.McLoughlin Solicitors, Sligo Splash Swim School, Get Up and Go Publications, StreetCart and Ardnua Holiday Accommodation. You can see all our current main sponsors here. This has helped us cover the set up costs of the website and registering the “Sligo Hub” business name.
We love working on Sligo Hub and we would love to be able to spend more time developing it. So we are putting up our prices from May 1st, but there is still time to register at the 2018 prices until April 30th. You can see instructions for easily joining online here

We love other people to share their businesses, events and viewpoints on our website too. We have created a membership website functionality so that businesses can join and add a listing and add events. For community and not-for-profit groups there is a small charge to cover administration.
We have a very successful facebook page where we share our blog posts as well as other local information from facebook. Instagram and Twitter accounts are also gathering a following.
Val Robus, already a successful blogger as Magnumlady, is out and about at social events and documenting them for the blog, as well as interviewing local people, while the backend support is provided by web developer, Kate McCarthy.
Although it has only been in existence since March 2018, Sligo Hub has already been making an impact on the local scene as a place to find out what’s on.
We hope to grow the website and social media presence further this year so that it incorporates a variety of writers and artists and becomes an essential part of Sligo life. We look forward to welcoming you to Sligo Hub.
