January Highlights 2019
A new year and a few highlights of things happening in County Sligo:
The Hawk’s Well Theatre have a fun packed month of events for all ages. Shows – including Sharon Shannon, singing courses, drama courses, theatre and more. You can find out all the details on their website.

Ballymote and Tubercurry Community Libraries have events on the 3rd and 4th of January for children. Free but booking essential.
Illumations Open Mic Poetry at the Bookmart, Bridge Street, Sligo. January 3rd 8pm.

Osta Cafe and Wine Bar 4 – 8pm Annual celebration of Women’s Christmas! Tickets price €10 available on the door go directly to DVAS and Sligo Rape Crisis Centre. Entertainment will be led by the wonderful Tara McGowan who will introduce many local talented performers and the ticket price also includes mulled wine, Christmas komboucha, mince pies and other seasonal treats!
Sligo Central Library 7.30 – 9.30pm Beat the January blues with our unmissable line-up of all female stand-up comedians with live music from The Candles! Free Event .Donations can be made on the night to support SHOUT (Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust). Free ticket essential from https://oichenollaig.eventbrite.ie
RTE Contempo Quartet at The Model, Sligo 13th January 2019. A concert devoted mainly to Beethoven’s string quartets, RTÉ Contempo Quartet also pays homage to two female Irish composers – Jane O’Leary and Ina Boyle. Admission: €25 (€10 students on the day)
The Fairy Tale Wedding Fair 19th and 20th January. For those planning a wedding there’s a weekend wedding fair at the IT Sligo Knocknarea Arena.

Sligo Walking Festival January 25th – 27th 2019. Join Northwest Adventure Tours for a weekend of walks to suit all levels of fitness. Walks include Benbulben, Benwisken, The Royal Peaks.
