If you are looking for a lovely walk with stunning scenery check out the Innisfree to Slish Wood Walk. This is part of the Sligo Way Walk which runs from Lough Talt just outside Tubbercurry and finishes in Dromahair, Co. Leitrim. The whole walk is 80km but if you don’t want to do the whole thing you can do it in sections.
For this walk I parked my car in the layby near the Isle of Innisfree jetty and followed the Sligo Way signs. The first part takes you through farmland and into a small forest. You’ll soon come to the boardwalk and you can walk along it until you get to Slish Wood.
You’ll be looking over Lough Gill and The Sleeping Giant and it’s so easy to see where to poet W. B. Yeats got his inspiration. This is just one of the many Sligo Walks.
