Halloween Scare in the Park

Scary skeletons, ghosts, ghouls and (slightly) frightening fun for everyone, ideal for 2-12 year olds. It’s also a chance for the whole family to dress up in their most creative costume (there’s prizes) and enjoy scares, dares and fearsome fare at The Sligo Folk Park, Riverstown.

The Folk Park takes on a new dimension when Halloween is in the air. There’s something scary around every corner. Watch out for the Mad Doctor in The Forge. Let your hair down at the Monster Jams Disco in the Street. Harry Potter fans will love the chance to enroll at the Hogwarts themed schoolroom. Hear the hair raising tale of the White Lady, the real Folk Park ghost, said to haunt Millview House. Join in some weird and wonderful workshops – make your own skeleton or a Halloween lantern. Get your face painted in a ghoulish manner. Don’t forget to enjoy some toasted marshmallows (not haunted!) and chocolate apples as well as trick or treat sweets and lollies.

The “Unshin Witch” will tell (slightly) spine-chilling tales in her cottage. The Pumpkin Carving Display is alarming art at its very best and the creepy concoctions of Witches Magic Potions could just cast a spooky spell. Or listen to storytelling in the spooky forest. It’s all for fun though, some tricks (but not many) and plenty of treats for everyone. The Café will also be open for beverages and treats.
