Sustainable Food Production Day-April 28th

The Organic Centre are partnering up with the Irish Environmental Network (IEN) to host a free event entitled ‘Sustainable Food Production’ this Sunday April 28th at the Organic Centre in Leitrim, The event is from 12-5pm. IEN Sustainable Development Goals Project Coordinator, Caitriona Rogerson, will be speaking at the event. The 17 global goals, the cornerstone of the United Nations sustainable development agenda seek to achieve over 150 targets aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring that we end all forms of malnutrition and hunger by 2030.
Now coming to the North West the Sustainable Food Production event will be hosted at the Organic Centre on April 28th and will include talks from local guest speakers on sustainable agriculture and food security, along with stalls from producers, and a photo exhibition of sustainable farmers and their stories. A screening of ‘In Our Hands’ a film described as ‘An inspiring story of real life farmers taking on the might of the industrial food system and taking back control of their lives’ will feature on the day.
This family friendly event will also include children’s workshops as well as food on the day from the Organic Centre’s very own Grass Roof Café run by Ragged Jack’s Kitchen.
The Organic Centre has been a leader in the field of Organic growing since 1995 offering courses in growing and sustainable living.
