Summer Sundays: Laser etch your Suncatchers With Artwood!
August 4, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Leitrim Design House together with The Dock Arts Centre would like to invite you all to the 4th in our series of “Summer Sundays” with special guests Artwood.
Artwood is a family craft business based in Co. Leitrim. Giolla and Emily run their business from their workshop beside their home. Giolla hand-makes the Suncatchers using local Irish woods such as Beech, Ash, Elm, Yew and Oak. He selects interesting woods with burrs and spalts in them so each Suncatcher is unique. The wood is combined with high-quality crystals such as Asfour and Swarovski. When hung in a window the crystal acts as a prism. It catches the light from the sun and refracts rainbows around the room. The suncatchers can also be personalised with names, dates, quotes and even poems such as Yeats.
Giolla will be offering his very special etching service for all previous or newly purchased Artwood products FREE OF CHARGE!!! Choose a special message or simple design and watch as it is laser etched into your Suncatcher WHILE U WAIT! Don’t worry if you don’t have a suncatcher yet, there will be plenty available in shop! The ideal gift or treat for yourself.
Plus there will be a preview of their exciting new and upcoming product range!!!
Music at the event will be provided by Devon MacGillivray. Devon is a vocalist, instrumentalist, composer conductor and facilitator specialising in working with young people. As well as being the Director and founder of the Leitrim light orchestra, she also directs the music generation children’s choir.
As usual, The Jury Room Café will be open so you can enjoy a tea or coffee, browse the galleries, and pore over the Sunday papers. No need to book, It’s all free. Just pop in. We look forward to welcoming you.
