Julia Croft Power Ballad

July 10, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Power Ballad is an angry, feminist, live art investigation of language and its sometimes hidden ideologies. Part performance lecture, part karaoke party, Power Ballad deconstructs gendered linguistic histories and rips apart contemporary language to find a new articulation of pleasure, anger and femaleness. With an 80s soundtrack to rival any school disco, Power Ballad is anarchic, loud and filled with feminist rage and Annie Lennox.

Best contemporary performance/live art, best performer, Auckland Fringe 2017
Melbourne Festival ‘Discovery Award,  Melbourne Fringe 2017
Shortlisted: Total theatre award for emerging artist, Edinburgh Fringe 2017
‘Power Ballad is a revolution: winking while bringing both form and content to its knees in a way that is deeply, deeply hopeful.’ – Pantograph Punch

‘An astonishing performance.’ ★★★★ The Herald Scotland
Tickets: €14

Followed by
