Easter Events in Sligo

I thought I’d do a blog post of just some of the events taking place in Sligo for Easter.

Firstly Eagles Flying is open all weekend and if you’ve never been it’s really well worth a visit for the whole family.

Sligo Athletic’s Club are hosting a free kids fun run on Good Friday which will take place at 11am starting on Lissadel Beach.

Good Friday at 1.30pm there’s a ‘Shark in the Park‘ at the Hawk’s Well Theatre.

The Super Cooper 5km run takes place from the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone on Good Friday at 5pm.

There are Easter egg hunts on this Saturday, one at Rathcormac Market, one at Beltra Country Market and one in Coolaney. There’s also an Easter Bonnet competition for all ages at Beltra Market, both markets start at 10am. Cafe Fia in Coolaney is holding an Easter Egg Hunt at 11am, find the hidden plastic eggs along the river walk and claim a rice krispie bun.

The Quayside have a free Family Fun Day on Saturday from 1 – 4pm. Meet & Greet the Easter Bunny,  Easter Eggs Hunt Trail, Face Painting, Arts & Crafts and more.

The Model Sligo have a Family Day on Easter Sunday from 10. 30am. Booking essential.

Sligo Rovers are hosting an Easter egg hunt on Sunday at 2pm. Lots of eggs to be found as well as merchandise and match tickets.

Bards in the Woods are hosting an Labyrinth Walk and picnic at 3pm on Sunday. Full details are here.

Cruinniú na Cásca, a day for culture and creativity, takes place on Easter Monday, April 17th

Cruinniú na Cásca at Strandhills Peoples Market, Family Day including music, street art performances and lots more. This is on from 11am – 4pm (Free) (Easter Monday)

Guided tour with Sean Martin of Sligo City Heritage Trail with Music from the City Hall from 1.30 – 2.30pm (Free) (Easter Monday)

Coleman Music Centre: Croí an Traidisiún Beo at the Coleman Centre in Gurteen from 3:00pm to 4:00pm (Free)

Yeats Poetry Circle at Yeats Memorial Building from 2.30pm – 4pm (Free) (Easter Monday)

Rose of Innisfree: Boat Tour of Lough Gill from Doorly Park 1:30pm to 3:00pm €15 for adults and €7.50 for children. Booking essential Contact: 087 6102822 or 087 2598869 (Easter Monday)

The Co. Sligo Ploughing Championships take place in Streamstown on Monday at 12 noon, there will also be a dog show on the day.

There is a Children’s Yoga and Creative Art Easter camp running from April 19th – 21st. More details here.

Sligo Woodland School have a 1 Day Camp on Friday 21st April for 0 – 6 year olds. Full details here.
