Creative Experiences in Sligo

 

If you are looking for a creative experience in Sligo there are lots of different workshops and classes you can take part in. Here are some of our suggestions:

Vocal coaching with Michele Feeney. If you’ve ever wanted to sing now is you chance. You can contact Michele here.

Sally Donnelly facilitates art workshops for children, including her very popular toddler art classes at the Sligo Family Resource Centre. You can contact Sally on 0876725220

Open Door Studio is in Branley’s Yard, Rathcormac. Classes include encaustic, oil and acrylic for all levels. Children’s art classes are also held. You can find them on Facebook here.

Jewellery making with Tiffany Budd goldsmith. If you fancy making your own piece of jewellery or learning about jewellery making in a relaxed environment in the Sligo countryside this could be the class for you.

Photography Courses with Peter Wilcock. Peter is a photo journalist with 50 years professional photography experience, he’s also a lecturer and teacher in photography.

Creative writing with Gerard Beirne. Gerard Beirne is an award winning Irish writer who has been teaching writing for 25 years. An experienced editor and mentor, his courses are developed to cater for writers of all levels.

Blacksmith courses with Michael Budd. Michael Budd is one of Ireland’s most experienced blacksmiths and tutors and if you’d like to spend a day in his fully equipped forge you can contact him here.

Ceramic classes with Rachel Quinn. Rachel is located in South Sligo and runs ceramic making courses for both adults and children. You can choose from either a half-day workshop or a longer course.

Painting with Lorna Watkins. Lorna has a studio near the sea and runs one-day courses for people to come and paint with her. All levels welcome.

Wild Atlantic Way Alpaca Farm run needle felt courses with the very talented Medbh Gillard.

Glass bead making with Graham Reid Design. A relaxing morning in a lovely workshop, all materials supplied and you get to take home what you make.
