If you’ve been in Tubbercurry over the last few days you might be wondering why there are signs of Christmas. The grey sky might make you wonder if it’s actually December rather than September.
Some of the shops have Christmas decorations in the windows, there are lights on the main street and there’s even a fully decorated Christmas tree.
It’s really for the filming of the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s best-selling book Normal People. The 12-part drama series will star Cold Feet actress Daisy Edgar Jones as Marianne and Paul Mescal in his first television role as Connell.
The drama is being filmed by the BBC and scenes have already been shot at Trinity College in Dublin. We’ll let you know when the series will be shown on TV
