Postponed – Blue Raincoat Theatre Company To Perform On Baile’s Strand

Due to the government restrictions announced 18th August 2020, this has now been postponed.

Blue Raincoat Theatre Company will perform Yeats’ On Baile’s Strand on Cummeen’s Strand next Saturday August 22nd at 2pm. This event is free to the public but it is essential to book. Booking and info available at blueraincoat.com

On Baile’s Strand, a drama about the madness of Cuchulainn, was first seen at the Abbey Theatre in 1904. King Concobar, aware of Cuchulainn’s bravery and his unruly temper, makes Cuchulainn swear an oath of obedience, forcing the unaware Cuchulainn to fight and kill his own son.

Directed by Niall Henry, the cast includes Ciaran McCauley, John Carty, Sandra O’Malley, Barry Cullen, Bob Kelly and Brian Devaney with music by Joe Hunt – it is regarded as one of Yeats’ most accessible and dramatic plays.

All attendees are asked to respect social distancing guidelines.
